How to do the main things in Chartful, and answers to common questions.
Getting started
Create your account
- Go to chartful.app and tap Start free.
- Tick the box to agree to the terms and privacy policy. Then tap Continue with Google, or type your email address and tap Email me a sign-in link.
- Using email? Open the email and tap the link, or type the code from it into Chartful. On iPhone, use the code if you’ve added Chartful to your home screen.
Add Chartful to your home screen
Chartful runs in your phone’s browser. Add it to your home screen and it opens like any other app, with no app store needed.
On iPhone
- Open chartful.app in Safari
- Tap Share (if you can’t see it, tap ••• first)
- Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add
On Android
- Open chartful.app in Chrome
- Tap the three-dot menu
- Tap Install app or Add to Home screen
Linking accounts
Open Accounts (along the bottom of the app, or down the side on a computer) and tap Link next to the account you want. You say yes on that platform’s own page and come straight back to Chartful.
- TikTok: TikTok shows its permission page each time, so you can check which account you’re linking.
- YouTube: choose the Google account that owns your channel, and leave every box ticked. Chartful needs each one to read your channel and its analytics.
- Website: your site needs to be in Google Search Console first. Chartful reads the sites you’ve verified there.
Your first numbers appear within a few minutes, and your first weekly summary arrives the week after you link.
Unlink an account
In Accounts, tap Unlink next to it. Chartful stops reading it and deletes its numbers straight away.
An account says Reconnect
Chartful has lost access to it, usually because Chartful was removed in your Google or TikTok settings. Tap Reconnect in Accounts. If you don’t, its numbers are deleted after 5 days (YouTube and websites) or 28 days (TikTok).
Your weekly summary
Chartful collects your numbers once a day. Each week runs Monday to Sunday, and your summary arrives on Wednesday, once every number from it is final.
- Read it later in the week: in Settings, under Your weekly summary, pick any day from Wednesday to Sunday.
- By email: turn on Email me when my week is ready in Settings. Every email also has a link to turn them off.
- Look back: in Your week, the arrows either side of the date step back through past weeks.
Post alerts
In Settings, under Post alerts, turn on Tell me when a new post goes live. That device then gets a notification when your new TikTok or YouTube video goes live, and when one takes off. Alerts arrive between 7am and 10pm UK time.
On iPhone, alerts only work from the home-screen app, so add Chartful to your home screen first.
Your data
- Download my data (Settings, Your data) saves everything Chartful keeps about you in one file.
- Delete my account and data removes your account and unlinks everything, for good. You can also use the Delete my data page.
- Our privacy policy sets out exactly what Chartful reads and keeps, and for how long.
Questions
Will Chartful post anything for me?
Never. It only reads your stats. It can’t post, comment, follow anyone or change anything.
Which accounts can I link?
TikTok, YouTube, and websites that use Google Search Console. Instagram is coming soon.
Why Wednesday?
The platforms take a few days to finish counting. By Wednesday, every number from last week is final, so your summary is right the first time.
Why doesn’t TikTok show ages or countries?
TikTok doesn’t share them with apps like Chartful, so your TikTok cards are built from your videos and follower counts instead.
Is there an app to download?
Not from an app store yet. Chartful runs in your phone’s browser, and you can add it to your home screen, where it opens like any other app.
Do I have to pay?
No. While we test, everyone gets all of Plus free. See Pricing for what happens when Plus launches.
Can I delete my data?
Yes, at any time, from the app or the Delete my data page.
